Early Life and Political Career

Justin Trudeau, born December 25, 1971, is the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. After graduating from McGill University and the University of British Columbia, he worked as a teacher and snowboard instructor before entering politics. In 2008, he was elected to the House of Commons as the Member of Parliament for Papineau.

Leadership of the Liberal Party

In 2013, Trudeau became leader of the Liberal Party and led it to a landslide victory in the 2015 federal election, ending over a decade of Conservative rule. He became Canada's 23rd Prime Minister at the age of 43.
